A Seat Awaits replaces spreadsheets, sticky-note diagrams, and generic floor-plan tools with a single workspace for event planners. Multiple planners can edit the same chart live, with real-time presence and cursors.

## What it does

- AI-assisted guest import from CSV, Excel, and Google Sheets — detects households, plus-ones, dietary needs, and cleans messy names automatically.
- Drag-and-drop floor plans with round, rectangle, square, and oval tables plus custom shapes; grid snapping for alignment.
- Live multi-user collaboration on the seating canvas (real-time presence, cursors, optimistic updates).
- Guest management: dietary restrictions, custom notes, household / group / family organization, search and filtering.
- Smart seating assignment: drag guests onto seats, visual capacity indicators, household auto-grouping, conflict detection.
- QR-code guest lookup: attendees scan a QR code, type their name, and find their table. No sign-up or app required.
- Read-only share links for vendors, venues, and other planners.
- Export to Excel and CSV (guest list, table assignments by group).

## Public read-only endpoints (agent-callable)

These do not require auth. They serve schema.org JSON-LD shapes so agents can introspect responses.

- `GET /api/public/events/{qr_token}` — returns a `SocialEvent` with the event name, id, and a `potentialAction` describing the guest-search endpoint.
- `GET /api/public/events/{qr_token}/guests?q={name}` — returns an `ItemList` of matching `Person` records with their assigned `Place` (table). Requires at least 2 query characters.
